President/Chief Architect

Michel de Champlain is the president of DeepObjectKnowledge, a firm providing mentoring and training in object technologies. He holds a PhD degree in software engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal. He has 25 years programming experience, including 17 years working with C++, 10 years with Java, and 6 years in C#. He has been teaching object technologies since 1988 and has already trained thousands of people throughout Quebec, Canada, the United States, Europe, and in New-Zealand.

His previous position was Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Concordia University. Dr. de Champlain has an industrial background as well as an academic background. He has always worked in close collaboration with the industry. His current research interests are object technologies, object-oriented languages, real-time microkernels, frameworks, pattern languages, and design patterns.
